Retaining a full service firm for your renovation project

All too often in the design and renovation business, we run into clients who regret not having retained a full-service firm to take them from the planning and design phase through to the completed construction phase.

The most recent example was an in-home consultation we had with a client just the other day.  The client had retained the services of a cabinet manufacturer who provided them with a set of drawings for the cabinetry but nothing else.  The clients were now expected to do the balance of the electrical and lighting design as well as source, supply, and coordinate all other materials such as countertops, backsplash, sinks, faucets, paint colours, lighting fixtures, not to mention the other labour groups.

As a result, the client had become overwhelmed after spending weeks attempting to source all these materials from reputable suppliers and struggling as to how to ensure that all the details would coordinate with one another.  In their own words, they said "We are now afraid to spend all this money only to have it not work out.".

The solution to such a situation is to retain a full service firm such as Innova.  A full service company is able to provide you with all the drawing sets including cabinetry and electrical layout as well as provide you with all the other design details such as lighting and plumbing fixtures, to countertops, backsplash materials, window coverings, paint colours and give you direction with your appliance selection.

At Innova, our service offering does not stop once the design is completed.  We are able to then be the general contractor taking the client through the construction phase and supplying and installing all materials, cabinetry, and fixtures so that the client can continue on with their lives.
